Product Description
Most of the grease lubricated bearings require periodic regreasing which depends on working speed, operating temperature and diameter of shaft. Over greasing of bearings can damage their seals by over heating or can turn grease materials into liquid that can cause functional failure of equipment.
The ideal solution of this problem lies in the installation of a LUBEX spring loaded grease feeder. Instead of installing grease nipple, this specific grease feeder need to be fixed directly over the bearing house.
Apart from installing in upside down position, this grease feeder can be fitted in straight, 45 degree, 90 degree angular directions by utilizing a proper adaptor.
How does LUBEX grease feeder work?
Replenish the grease feeder with grease by using a grease gun through a non return valve. Grease pressurizes the piston to constricting against a spring. The transparent polycarbonate dome allows its operator to observe the level of grease inside it for refilling of grease feeder. One need to remember that, the functioning of its bushing, bearing and pillow block can not be viewed. The LUBEX grease feeder base conveys grease to the bearing at less than 2 psi pressure level.
The vacuum or natural venturi of its bearing is instrumental for smooth flow of grease when required. The flow of grease ceases to stop when the bearing or equipment is not working.
The three movable parts of LUBEX grease feeders include spring, a piston or plunger which is equipped with a precisely designed rod and an 'O' shaped ring. The compressed spring of grease feeder produces balanced pressure on its piston which is attached to a metering rod when its dome is full with grease. The taper part of the groove of its metering rod causes a certain change in its discharge oriface area which is equivalent to the reduced spring pressure. This entire process is instrumental in maintaining a constant discharge pressure.
We offer three different types of springs with different discharge rate as per the viscosity of grease. These include NLGI 1,2,3 and 4. These also come in handy for overcoming grease flow resistivity on 'L' distance found between bearing and grease feeder. These grease feeders are unable to cover more than 250 mm 'L' distance.
LUBEX grease feeder utilizes non separating grease as it has been observed that conventional grease is prone to isolate from its thickener under a constant spring pressure. We recommend to utilize adapters to install grease feeders. Customers need to specify the end connection size like 45 degree x ¼ , 90 degree x 1/8.
Color codification of springs include –
1. Silver – denotes normal
2. Red – indicates high tension
3. Blue – suggests low tension
LUBEX saves in three different ways
1. Low bearing failure rate and reduced downtime
2. Reduces utilization of grease
3. Saves operation time required for re-lubrication purpose
